As it does each year around
this time, The Peoples Christian Academy community gathered again for worship
on December 13, 2012. “Carols of
Christmas,” presented by students and teachers, was certainly not short on entertainment
value. The unpredictable, and always amusing, primary graders delighted the
audience as they gustily sang “There’s A Song in the Air.” And from those tiny
songsters, through the Junior School Choir, the Middle School strings and
winds, to the more mature (and still maturing) voices of the Senior School
Choir, Fideles, the overflow audience
was treated to a program brimming with artistic quality and meaning.
But over and above
the entertainment aspect of the show, there was the unapologetic focus on the
One who came to save us – the Baby in the manger, our Saviour and Lord. We are
thankful that, as a private Christian school, we have the immense privilege of
magnifying the Christ of Christmas both at this annual worship event and
throughout the school year. Daily,
through our curriculum and teaching/learning practices, we lift up Christ “in whom are hidden all the treasures of
wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:3
