Craig
Kielburger is a young children’s rights activist from Thornhill Ontario. In dialogue magazine, a publication of “Our Kids Media”, Craig makes this statement:
“Educators are some of the most influential people in the world because they
shape how a child looks at society, and that shapes the future generation in how
they vote, shop, consume and make lifestyle choices.” It’s not a new
observation, of course. Advertisers – book sellers, soft drink companies, candy
companies and others – have for years exploited the powerful influence that
educational leaders have over children.
At
Peoples Christian Academy we take this awesome responsibility seriously. Our
concern for the children’s future is not so much how they shop or vote (even
though we don’t deny that even in matters of the mundane our influence has
impact). Our concern is that the divine
principles of God’s Word, imparted through modeling and declaring the Truth
through the years of the children’s educational career, will be what informs
their ideas, lifestyle and actions when they become adults.
PCA
can proudly point to many of its alumni who are difference makers in their
adult lives. Those alumni quite readily
point to the strong influence their teachers have had in shaping their
character and leading them to view the world through a lens of compassion and
hope.
The
goal of our Mission Statement statement, producing students “whose lives
glorify God” is fulfilled over and over again through the life-commitment of
our graduates.
